On any given night, thousands of our neighbors, including children, in Cook and Lake counties don’t have a place to call home. When families have stable, decent, and accessible homes that they can afford, they are better able to find employment, achieve economic mobility, perform better in school, and maintain improved health. The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, case managers work with people and families experiencing homelessness and those who are at risk of homelessness. These managers identify households of greatest risk and determine the type of support needed to prevent homelessness.
